Currently, we are running two main projects: On one hand, we are addressing the cell biological effects of microplastics (<5mm plastic particles found in the environment through plastics pollution and breakdown) on microbiota. On the other hand, we are using optogenetics to achieve light-driven control of neuronal activity in the embryonic chicken in order to better understand sensorimotor systems development.
